Time Capsule

10 "items" someone 100 years in the future should know about our time

1. Twitter

  • Twitter is important because it allows users to connect with so many different people and companies, as well as allowing them to post and follow the most up-to-date news as possible.

2. Facebook
  • Facebook is another social media platform that allows its members to exchange information and keep in touch in a very easy manner. Marketing is another important aspect of the activity performed on the website.
3. iPods
  • iPods were obviously one of the first electronic devices to come to mind for this list. These and other mp3 devices were the most practical and convenient way to listen to your music collection and made a huge impact.
4. Google
  •  Google is the world's most popular search engine by far, and one of the most useful tools to have. Whether needed for school or for daily life, I definitely end up using Google every single day.
5. Wikipedia
  • Wikipedia is one of the most visited destinations on the internet, and is the single largest encyclopedia ever assembled. Although we aren't typically supposed to use the website for academic work, its quite useful in daily life and more often than not has accurate information. The idea that anyone can contribute to the page also makes it even more interesting.
6. Pinterest
  • Pinterest is a website, as well as a discovery tool for people to keep a collection of ideas for their different interests. I feel like this is an important website because it is unique and stands apart from other blogs. It is also a different kind of way to connect with family and friends.
7. Smartphone
  • Smartphones are another obvious choice of technology that should be thrown into the fake time capsule. All the possibilities of different applications and features on a smartphone make them such an important advance in technology. They have obviously changed the way many people navigate through their day.
8. Chromecast
  • Chromecast is a new electronic device and it is already very important to me. It is a digital media player developed by Google which directly streams audio or video via Wi-Fi. There are no USB cords involved and it makes home streaming so much easier.
9. GPS navigation systems
  • Not everyone has a smartphone with GPS technology, so for them they might have a navigation system in their car that can assist them in getting from point A to point B, without having to print out directions or look at a huge paper map.
10. Netflix
  • Netflix is a provider of On-demand internet streaming media from which users have hundreds of movies and television shows to choose from and watch for a small monthly fee. One of the best things ever is being able to watch an entire television series after it has aired, without any waiting period, which Netflix has made so easy and accessible.
